What's easy to miss here is that the promise isn't just about being a support in God's heavenly temple, but about receiving multiple, indelible markings of belonging. These inscriptions aren't just symbols of honor, but a profound identification with God, His eternal city, and even Christ's new name, signifying a complete and permanent union. This signifies that in eternity, the conquering believer will bear visible, undeniable proof of their unbreakable connection to the divine.
The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
