English Standard Version (ESV)
Following God's command to declare judgment, Jeremiah is instructed to prophesy further concerning a devastating roar from God that will shake the entire earth. This divine roar, compared to the fierce cry of a lion and the boisterous shouts of grape-treaders, signifies God's unleashed wrath against all inhabitants of the world, not just Judah. The imagery emphasizes the terrifying inevitability of God's judgment, which will spare no nation.
