Notice the "great gladness" isn't just a casual feeling; it's a direct result of the priests and Levites praising God "day by day, singing with all their might." This shows us that true, sustained joy during worship isn't accidental, but actively cultivated through wholehearted devotion and praise directed towards God.
And the people of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with great gladness, and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with all their might to the LORD. And Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who showed good skill in the service of the LORD. So they ate the food of the festival for seven days, sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the LORD, the God of their fathers.

Have you ever felt that joy is just a feeling that happens to you? This passage shows joy isn't passive, but an active response to God's goodness.
In 2 Chronicles 30, King Hezekiah calls all Israel to celebrate Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This feast, commemorating their exodus from Egypt, was meant to be a remembrance of God's deliverance.
Despite the nation's long history of disobedience, the people who gathered in Jerusalem embraced this opportunity with 'great gladness.' Their joy wasn't just about the food or the company; it was a profound expression of relief and gratitude for God's faithfulness in restoring them. It was a joy born from obedience and the fresh realization of His mercy.
Praise can sometimes feel like a chore. But what happens when worship becomes a full-throttle, all-consuming expression of devotion?
The Levites and priests didn't just go through the motions; they praised the LORD 'day by day, singing with all their might.' This wasn't a half-hearted effort. It was constant, energetic, and wholehearted.
Their sustained worship, described as 'singing with all their might,' reflects an overwhelming sense of awe and thankfulness. It suggests that when we truly grasp God's power and goodness, our response is not silence, but a resounding declaration of His worth. This kind of worship is infectious and transforms the atmosphere.
