The verse emphasizes that our baptism is not just a symbolic act, but a profound identification with Christ's death and resurrection, signifying a radical shift from our old life to a new one powered by God's own glory. It highlights that the same divine power that raised Jesus is at work in us to enable us to live this transformed life.
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
