He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

What does it mean to 'dwell' in a secret place? It's more than just visiting; it's about making it your home.
The verse speaks of 'dwelling in the secret place of the Most High.' This isn't a physical location, but a state of intimate relationship with God.
Intimate Communion
It signifies someone who habitually seeks God's presence, finding their refuge and rest in Him. It implies a deep, ongoing communion, like making God's very heart or presence your home.
Constant Reliance
This 'dwelling' is characterized by constant reliance and trust, especially in times of danger or difficulty. It's about making God your primary source of safety and peace, not just in emergencies but as a way of life.
God's 'shadow' might sound like exposure, but in Scripture, it's a powerful symbol of protection and comfort.
The promise for those who dwell in God's secret place is that they 'will abide under the shadow of the Almighty.' This shadow is not one of concealment that leaves you in darkness, but of divine protection and care.
Divine Protection
Think of a parent's hand providing shade on a hot day, or a bird shielding its young. God's 'shadow' represents His active, encompassing protection. It's a place of safety where His power shields you from harm.
