What's easily missed here is that "magnify" doesn't mean making God bigger—His greatness is infinite—but rather, it means declaring His greatness and acknowledging it publicly. This isn't just about personal gratitude, but about actively proclaiming God's worth and majesty through both song and thankfulness.
I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. This will please the LORD more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs. When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive.
English Standard Version (ESV)
Having poured out intense suffering and pleas for rescue throughout the psalm, the psalmist now shifts to a tone of confident anticipation, vowing to praise God once deliverance is received. This expression of gratitude is presented as more valuable to God than any animal sacrifice, looking forward to a future of worship that will involve both the psalmist and others who seek God.
