Egypt. The very land that enslaved Israel now becomes a sanctuary for the Son of God. How can this be?
Divine Providence at Work
God's plan often has layers we don't immediately grasp. The choice of Egypt as a refuge is striking. Centuries earlier, Israel had suffered greatly in Egyptian bondage, enduring cruelty and the loss of infants. Yet, God now turns this very place into a safe haven for Jesus.
This highlights a profound truth: God can use even places and circumstances associated with past suffering or difficulty to fulfill His purposes. For Jesus, Egypt became a temporary sanctuary, protecting Him from Herod's murderous rage, just as God protected Israel from slavery. It shows God's power to redeem and repurpose.
