Imagine God choosing a specific place on earth to dwell among His people. Leviticus 1:1 marks a significant shift in how God communicates.
From Sinai to the Tent
Before the Tabernacle was built, God spoke to Moses from Mount Sinai, a place of awe and distant majesty. Think of the thunder and lightning described in Exodus!
But with the completion of the Tabernacle, described in Exodus 40, God's presence moves. He doesn't just speak from a mountain; He now speaks from within the tent of meeting. This wasn't just a building; it was a sacred space, designed by God Himself, where His presence would dwell among His people.
This shift signifies a deepening of relationship. God is not only revealing His law but is now making Himself accessible in a more intimate way, right there in the midst of the Israelite camp.
