Has God ever seemed small in your eyes, or have you ever doubted His strength against overwhelming odds? Joshua reminds us who is truly in charge.
Joshua begins by calling the Israelites to remember who brought them this far. He states plainly, 'For the LORD has driven out before you great and strong nations.' This isn't a small point; these were powerful peoples, established in fortified cities, often described as formidable. Yet, every single one was overcome. This wasn't due to Israel's superior might or clever strategy alone. The emphasis is squarely on the LORD's action. He is the one who expelled them, who dislodged them, who cleared the path. This is a divine declaration: no human power or opposition can ultimately thwart God's purposes when He decides to move.
