Even when Jesus isn't openly present, His influence creates a stir. How does His hidden movement speak to us?
Jesus’ decision to attend the feast 'not openly, but, as it were, in secret' (John 7:10) adds another layer to the scene. While the crowds and authorities are searching, Jesus is already there, moving discreetly.
The Hidden King
This wasn't Jesus hiding in fear, but a strategic move. His 'office' and timing dictated His public appearance. It underscores that Jesus operates on a different timeline and strategy than the world expects. His presence, even when concealed, was the very reason for the 'murmuring' and the search.
The True Feast
This situation speaks profoundly to our own faith. True spiritual celebration, a real 'feast,' is incomplete without Christ. The people were seeking Him because He was the significant figure, the one who made the feast a feast. His hidden presence highlights that He is the central element, whether recognized or not.
