The verse highlights that Christ's love for us mirrors the Father's infinite love for Him, setting a divine standard for our own lives. This isn't just about feeling loved, but about actively dwelling in the sphere of that love, which Jesus emphasizes by using the same word for "abide" throughout these verses, urging a continuous, deep connection.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

9 . As the Father , &c.) The Greek construction is ambiguous. It would be quite possible to translate, Even as the Father loved Me and I loved you , abide in My love .
