Ever feel like God is trying to tell you something, but you can't quite grasp it? You're not alone. Even Job, in his deepest distress, missed the divine conversation happening around him.
Elihu’s point here is powerful: God doesn't leave us in the dark. He speaks, not always in booming pronouncements, but often in quieter, more persistent ways.
The 'Once and Twice'
- First Word: This can be through the inner voice of conscience, a nudge towards what's right or wrong. It can also be the 'whispers' of providence – the way events unfold, the lessons learned from daily life.
- Second Word: When we miss the first subtle hint, God often doesn't give up. He might bring another, perhaps more direct, reminder. This could be through a dream, a specific life circumstance, or even through the words of others. The key is God's gracious persistence when we fail to perceive His initial message.
These aren't always earth-shattering revelations. They are gentle, repeated attempts by a loving Father to guide us, correct us, and draw us closer.
