We often look to the young and strong, believing they have all the answers and endless energy. But what if even they can't make it on their own?
This verse paints a vivid picture of human limitation. It’s not just talking about anyone; it specifically calls out 'youths' and 'young men.' These are the people we’d expect to have the most stamina, the most resilience.:
Peak of Human Power
- Youths (נְעָרִים - ne'arim): This term often refers to those in their younger, more energetic years.
- Young men (בַּחוּרִים - bachurim): This word specifically denotes the 'chosen' or 'select' young men, implying those at the peak of their physical prime, chosen for their strength and vigor.
The prophet uses these examples to show that natural strength, even at its absolute best, is insufficient. It will inevitably fail under pressure, fatigue, or life's difficult challenges.
