Why does God repeatedly ask if we 'know' and 'hear'?
God isn't playing a guessing game; He's pointing to evidence everywhere.
Revealed in the Making
Isaiah confronts people – both the Israelites tempted by surrounding idolatry and the Gentiles themselves – with a simple yet profound question: Have you not noticed?
- Creation's Testimony: The very 'foundations of the earth' are meant to teach us about the Creator. From the immense power needed to establish the world to the intricate design seen in its smallest parts, God's invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – are clearly perceived through what He has made (Romans 1:20).
- Continuous Revelation: This isn't a one-time event. From the 'beginning' of the world, God's existence and power have been evident. It's a truth that has been passed down through generations, like an 'unbroken tradition'.
God expects us to recognize Him, not just through sacred texts, but through the magnificent reality He has constructed.
