There's a non-negotiable standard for entering God's presence, and it’s called holiness.
The second part of the verse presents 'holiness' (Greek hagiasmos) as an essential condition for seeing the Lord. This isn't just about avoiding gross sins; it’s a deeper moral and spiritual purification that sets us apart for God. It means continually growing in Christlikeness, dedicating ourselves to God’s will, and actively rejecting anything that compromises our relationship with Him. While peace is about our interactions with others, holiness is fundamentally about our relationship with God and our alignment with His character. Without this ongoing process of being made holy, we can’t truly 'see' or experience God’s presence, either now or in eternity.
