The shocking part here is that Jerusalem's wickedness wasn't just more than the nations, it was a perversion of God's own laws. They "changed" His judgments, meaning they actively rebelled and twisted His good commands into something wicked, making their sin far greater than those who never knew God's ways at all.
And she has rebelled against my rules by doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries all around her; for they have rejected my rules and have not walked in my statutes. Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you are more turbulent than the nations that are all around you, and have not walked in my statutes or obeyed my rules, and have not even acted according to the rules of the nations that are all around you,
English Standard Version (ESV)
Ezekiel is explaining why God is bringing such severe judgment on Jerusalem. He reveals that Jerusalem, despite being God's chosen city surrounded by pagan nations, has actually become more wicked than those around her. This isn't just about straying from God's laws, but actively rejecting them and living in defiance, a rebellion far worse than that of the surrounding Gentile countries.

Sinning with Eyes Wide Open
The verse says Jerusalem 'rejected my rules and have not walked in my statutes.' What does this active rejection look like in practice?
The core of Jerusalem's rebellion, as described in Ezekiel 5:6, is a conscious refusal of God's way. 'They have rejected my rules and have not walked in my statutes.' This speaks to a deep-seated defiance:
