So, if we can't always figure out God's plan, what are we supposed to do? Solomon offers a practical way forward.
Faced with the puzzle of life's seeming unfairness, Solomon doesn't advocate for cynicism or despair. Instead, he points toward a path of joyful acceptance and trust.
Even though we can't always understand why things happen, we can choose how to respond:
- Trust God's Sovereignty: Recognize that God is in control, even when His actions are mysterious. He has His reasons, even if we don't see them now.
- Embrace Present Joys: The wisdom isn't to fret endlessly over what we can't change. Instead, find contentment in God's present provisions. Enjoy the good things He gives – food, fellowship, simple pleasures – with a thankful heart.
- Live with Hope: This perspective allows us to live cheerfully, finding peace not in perfect understanding, but in confident trust in a God who promises ultimate justice.
