While Jesus is usually described as sitting at God's right hand, Stephen sees Him standing. This isn't a contradiction, but a powerful image of Jesus rising from His throne to welcome and honor His faithful martyr. Stephen's vision highlights that even in the face of death, Jesus is actively engaged in His work of saving and rewarding His followers.
But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
