Have you ever noticed how Scripture builds on itself? Paul's words here aren't entirely new.
Interestingly, Paul uses language strikingly similar to that of Stephen, the first Christian martyr, in Acts 7:48. Stephen declared, 'the Most High does not dwell in houses made by hands.' Paul, who was present at Stephen's stoning and approved of it (Acts 8:1), now echoes this very truth in Athens. This shows a significant development in Paul's understanding and a courageous application of a foundational biblical principle. It demonstrates that the truth about God's transcendence—His being beyond physical limitations—was a core message from the very beginnings of the church, even when facing hostile audiences.
