2 Timothy 3:2-5

Notice that the list starts with "lovers of self" and "lovers of money" – these are internal attitudes that then spill out into outward actions like pride and abuse. This shows how our inner desires, even ones that seem relatively harmless like wanting to be the best or having nice things, can become the root of so much outward conflict and brokenness. It's a potent reminder that our hearts are the real battleground.
For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

The Domino Effect
The list culminates in 'ungrateful' and 'unholy.' How do these final traits perfectly capture the spiritual decay that results from a life centered on self?
