2 Chronicles 9:29-31

It's easy to skim past this verse, but notice how it reveals that what we have in 2 Chronicles is not the exhaustive, day-by-day account of Solomon's reign. Instead, it's a summary highlighting the significant moments and spiritual lessons, pointing us to other, now-lost, historical records for more detail. This reminds us that God's Word often gives us what we need to know for salvation and wisdom, not always every single historical fact.
Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, from first to last, are they not written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat? Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father, and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.

Ever feel like you're only getting part of the story? The Bible often points to other accounts, revealing a rich tapestry of God's work.
This verse is a fascinating peek behind the curtain of the biblical text itself. It acknowledges that the "history of Solomon" we read in 1 & 2 Kings and 1 & 2 Chronicles is not the only record.
Prophets and seers weren't just fortune-tellers; their words carried divine authority and historical weight. This verse shows their crucial role in documenting God's dealings.
The mention of "Nathan the prophet," "Ahijah the Shilonite," and "Iddo the seer" emphasizes the prophetic and visionary nature of these records.
