Ever feel like you're just guessing in the dark? The Bible says our identity isn't about guesswork, but about belonging to the 'light'. What does that really mean for how we live?
Paul calls believers 'children of light' and 'children of the day'. This isn't just a poetic description; it's a statement of our new identity in Christ.
Born into Light
Before knowing Jesus, we might have lived in the 'night' or 'darkness,' symbolizing ignorance, sin, and separation from God. But when we follow Christ, we are transferred into His kingdom of light. God Himself is light (1 John 1:5), and He calls us to live in that light with Him.
Living Our Identity
This identity as children of light means we are meant to reflect God's character – truth, goodness, and holiness. It means we no longer have to hide in the shadows but can live openly and honestly, knowing we are secure in God's presence.
