When we think of peace, we often picture quiet moments or the absence of conflict. But God's peace is far more active and transformative.
God's Peace is Active Creation
The Bible calls God "the God of peace" (Romans 15:33, Hebrews 13:20). This isn't just a label; it describes His very nature and His work in the world. His peace isn't passive; it's a powerful force that brings order, restoration, and wholeness.
Peace as Restoration
In Scripture, God's peace (the Hebrew word 'shalom' is a great example) means far more than just peace. It encompasses well-being, completeness, and flourishing. When God brings peace, He brings restoration to all that is broken.
This verse shows us that the God who brings peace is the one who also sanctifies – makes us holy. This sanctification is a holistic process, touching every part of us.
