It's easy to admire and rally around influential spiritual leaders. But where does that admiration cross a dangerous line?
Paul calls out the Corinthian church for dividing themselves based on who they followed – Paul or Apollos. He doesn't dismiss their admiration for these men, but he questions the basis of their loyalty.
The Danger of 'My Leader'
When we say, "I follow [leader's name]," it can imply that our allegiance is to the person rather than to God and His truth. This creates unhealthy divisions and elevates humans to a position only Christ deserves. Leaders are instruments, not ultimate authorities. True spiritual life is found in Christ alone.
