Paul talks about building, but what exactly is the foundation we're building on? It's something solid and eternal, meant to withstand anything.
The Cornerstone of Faith
Paul uses the metaphor of building to talk about our spiritual lives and our work for God. But before anyone can build, there has to be a foundation. In the context of 1 Corinthians, and especially with Paul as the spiritual father figure, the foundation is unmistakably Jesus Christ himself.
Think about it: everything we do for God, every ministry, every act of service, every bit of theological understanding, rests upon the finished work of Christ – his life, death, and resurrection. This isn't a foundation we lay; it's the foundation God has already laid for us. It’s non-negotiable and supremely valuable.
