David poured his heart and soul into preparing for the Temple, even though he wouldn't be the one to build it. What does this tell us about our role in God's bigger plans?
David’s passion for the Temple was immense. He describes his preparation as done 'with great pains,' highlighting the personal cost and effort involved. Yet, he understood that his role was to provide the resources and lay the groundwork, not to see the ultimate vision fulfilled. He acknowledged that his contribution was significant ('greatly'), but then he turned to his son Solomon and said, 'To these you must add.' This shows a beautiful cycle of faith: God inspires a vision, individuals labor with all their might to advance it, and then pass the baton to the next generation to build upon it. Our part might be foundational, and that is sacred work too.
