Why specifically 'glory' and 'strength'? What do these two concepts together reveal about God?
The verse asks us to ascribe two crucial attributes to God: glory and strength.
Glory
Glory speaks to God’s intrinsic worth, His radiance, His supreme majesty and honor. It's the outward manifestation of His inner perfection and holiness. To give God glory is to acknowledge Him as He truly is – magnificent and deserving of all praise.
Strength
Strength points to God's power, His might, His ability to act and to sustain. It’s the power behind His creation, His plans, and His redemptive work. Ascribing strength means recognizing that He is the ultimate source of all power and authority.
Together, they paint a picture of a God who is not only supremely worthy of honor but also supremely capable. He is glorious and powerful, perfect and potent.
